Ground Measurements

GeoSUN specialises in specifying, installing, monitoring and maintaining on-site solar-meteorological stations, mainly in various Africa countries but also in other markets. This is one of the GeoSUN core services and more than 130 stations have been installed in various countries.​

Combining ground measurements of at least 12 months with site specific satellite derived data yields the most accurate resource assessment.​

GeoSUN offers rental stations (solar data as a service) in selected regions.​

For a grid connection application in South Africa, ESKOM requires “measured data for solar for a period of a year”. We assist solar developers to adhere to this requirement.
